Introducing the mooDating 1.8 Roadmap: Smarter Matching, AI Engagement, and Intelligent Moderation
We’re excited to share what’s coming in mooDating 1.8. This release is focused on one thing: making your platform smarter without adding complexity for you as an operator. Here’s a look at what we’re building.
Smart Interest Score & Match Compatibility
One of the most common pieces of feedback we hear is that members want to know whether someone is actually a good match before they decide to interact. In 1.8, we’re addressing this directly with a visible Interest Score on member profiles.
The score is calculated automatically based on the information members provide — interests and hobbies, relationship goals, lifestyle details, age preferences, gender preferences, and how complete their profile is. The result is a simple compatibility percentage displayed right on the profile card.
So instead of swiping blind, a member can see something like 92% Match Compatibility before making a decision. It won’t replace the instinctive part of dating, but it gives people useful signal at a glance and helps serious users move faster toward the connections that actually make sense for them.
AI-Powered Fake Profile Engagement
mooDating already ships with a Sub-Profile (Fake Users) system to help operators solve the cold-start problem. In 1.8, we’re making it significantly smarter.
Currently, fake profile behavior is fairly basic. In 1.8, fake profiles will use the same Interest Score engine to evaluate real user profiles before deciding how to interact. The logic works like this:
- If the Interest Score between a fake profile and a real member is below 50%, the fake profile will view the profile and move on — nothing more.
- Between 50–89%, there’s a randomized chance to view or engage.
- At 90% or above, the fake profile will view the real member’s profile, like it, and can trigger a match — after which the AI Chat system from 1.7 takes over and continues the conversation naturally.
The result is a full engagement funnel: Discover → View → Like → Match → AI Chat. For operators launching a new platform, this makes the experience feel alive from day one without requiring a large real user base.
AI Profile Photo Moderation
Manually reviewing every uploaded profile photo is one of the more tedious parts of running a dating platform, especially as your community grows. In 1.8, we’re adding an optional AI moderation layer for profile images.
The system can automatically scan uploaded photos and flag content that may violate your platform rules — explicit material, low-quality images, suspicious patterns. You configure what happens next: auto-approve clean images, auto-reject clear violations, or route anything uncertain to a manual review queue.
It’s optional, configurable, and designed to reduce your workload rather than take decisions out of your hands entirely.
What This Means for 1.8
Taken together, these three features move mooDating from a dating script into something closer to an engagement platform. Smart matching helps real members connect more effectively. AI-driven fake profile behavior builds community activity from launch. Automated photo moderation reduces the overhead of keeping your platform clean.
We’ll share more details on configuration options and rollout timing as we get closer to release. If you have questions or feedback on the roadmap, reach out through the community forum.
